About

UPDATE

I’ve been struggling personally for a long time with all the crap that’s going on around the world, but particularly in the US. This isn’t anything new. It’s been proceeding in some form for decades. It’s just so much more obvious now.

America is too precious to lose to people who are so ignorant, so brainwashed, so spoiled, so money-and-power driven, or so criminally-driven. They have no decency, no morals, and no respect for our laws, our constitution, and our fellow citizens.

Admittedly, America is not a perfect country. No country is. But it is/was the best in the world.
Most of us have been working to fix our nation’s imperfections and improve our lives. Some, though, have been working behind the media scenes to lead America down a very negative path. They have led us into unrighteous and unnecessary wars, into likely financial ruin, and toward an uncertain future which is not as bright or civilized as our past.

I’ve decided to change my approach with humoroids. There’s an old saying I haven’t heard for some time. “It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious.” Some of the changed content may not be at all funny, but they point out serious problems — and maybe with a different point of view.

I don’t have the funding, backing, or resources (all = money) or time to go out on the road to promote my thoughts, but I feel they deserve expression.

I’m also struggling with the format and how to present these.
Before, I had just posted humoroids on a page as they came up. (I discovered in putting this site together that I can’t find some files and have lost so many.) That style by itself won’t work with large numbers of points. How would a reader know when I post something new? To have a new blog for each posting could leads to hundreds or thousands of blogs over time, each consisting of a sentence or a few sentences.
So, for now, what I’ll do is post each new one on top. That will notify any reader who returns to the site of any new points. If I think of a better solution, I’ll change to that later.

History

There is a history behind this version of humoroids. I had the thought originally around 2000. I had never heard of the word and thought it was very unique. Later, I found a couple of copyrighted works which used the word. So much for originality? I toyed with the idea of using it for something until 2003. In 2004, I applied for a US trademark. It took me a while to get things going. I discovered that someone else apparently liked the term as well and had taken the .com domain. I put up a website with the .net domain, published some humoroids, and made a couple of stand-up comic presentations. I was awarded the trademark in 2009. With a full-time job and other activities, however, I wasn’t able to devote as much time as I’d planned. Then with a move to another city in 2012, I couldn’t find an organized establishment for regular comedy presentations. Since I wasn’t able to maintain full use of the trademark, it was cancelled in 2015. Humoroid has lain dormant until now, 2023. It’s not like I have more time to work on this, but it’s something I’d still like to do. Thus I’m going to give it another try. So …

I kept the old website home page graphic, even though there is nothing special about it. Maybe some day I’ll change it.
There are so many humoroids. I’ll try to start with some current and work in some of the older. It will take me a while to get them all posted.

Enjoy them.
